It was a beautiful sunny Saturday, 9.5.2020. We hiked to the top of Begunjščica mountain. Here I share photo moments from this beautiful day with you.
Mountain Begunjščica is a 2060 meters high mountain in the Karavanke east of Stol (the highest in Karavanke Range). On its slope lies an abandoned manganese mine, where it was exploited in the 19th century to extract manganese.
If you start your hike from Draga ita takes around 3 hours to the top. Another option is to go with the car to Poljška Planina and from there to the top it will be around 2 hours.
When you reach the top, all sweat was worth it!
On top you can see Karavanke range with mountain Vrtača and the highest mountain Stol, Mountain Dobrča and Storžič and your look will see on the other side of the Alps – all the way to Austria.
