Cliffs of Moher are probably the number one attraction in Ireland. And believe me, it is a spectacular view over the cliffs. You can find these rock formations all over the world, but Cliffs of Moher are one of the famous ones in Europe. It is a natural beauty and you can enjoy and spend hours walking along the edge.
WHAT IS CLIFF? Cliff is a vertical rock exposure. Cliffs are formed as erosion landforms by the processes of weathering and erosion. Most common are on coasts. The bottom is formed by the undulations (from the waves), the above works by graviclastic processes. The consequence is the displacement of the cliffs (formation of the abrasion shelf).
The Cliffs of Moher are located on the west coast of Ireland close to the city Galway along the Wild Atlantic Way. It is around 1,5 hours away from Galway.
Get prepared for any weather. We had sun, fog, and rain. O’Brien’s Tower marks the highest point of the cliffs. It’s just a short walk away from the visitor’s center. You can pay an additional fee to enter.
