El Nido and Coron are probably one of the most wanted destinations in the Philippines. Open Google and type these two locations. Amazing huh? So greenish and these blue crystal clear waters?
Spending New Year in El Nido was great. A lot of tourists and local people were here mixed up and everybody enjoyed the party on the street and on the beach. If we exclude poisoning with food! Ughh…
GETTING THERE
From Coron, we came to El Nido with the Jomalia ferry. It took 3 hours and a half and it is probably the fastest. Onboard you have your own seat (you can choose inside or outside) with TV.
What I did not expect was, how small is the town of El Nido?
Here is the video of New Year´s Eve at El Nido´s main street and on the beach.
El Nido is a small but charming town. I loved it. But in my opinion, two days or three days more than enough.
The most popular activity in El Nido is to go island hopping either in a private boat or as part of a tour group. There are four tours to choose from in El Nido; Tour A, Tour B, Tour C, and Tour D. Each tour offers different destinations but all accept a maximum of 20 people.
BIG LAGOON
The big and small lagoon is situated on Miniloc Island. The Secret lagoon is there as well. The boat will stop at the entrance of the lagoon. You can swim or rent a kayak as well. Normally, you have one hour to spend in there.

SECRET LAGOON
Secret Lagoon is a small pool of water hidden from the sea. You need to be careful when you walk from the boat to the shore because of sea urchins. It is small but surrounded by majestic limestone cliffs. If you are lucky, there will be no queue. But what is more interesting is the beach nearby. Take a look ⇩

LUNCH NEAR SCHIMITZU ISLAND
After Secret Lagoon we had lunch on a boat near Schimitzu Island. A small island surrounded by clear waters of El Nido, rock formations, and a scene of towering mountains. A good place as a lunch area for Island Tour A.

Snorkeling is one of my favorite activities when I am on vacation. Being underwater and observe and swim between a different kind of fish. Unfortunately, here in El Nido snorkeling was not the top snorkeling location that I have been.
7 COMMANDOS BEACH
The last stop was 7 Commandos beach. An isolated beach that is located on the mainland, but only accessible by water. You can enjoy snorkeling, sunbathing under coconut trees, playing some volleyball, while drinking your favorite drink.
CONCLUSION
In January 2020, Taraw Cliff was closed. It was prohibited to go up. It is probably the most breathtaking view of El Nido.
To sum up, I was enjoying more the tour on Coron Island. Here in El Nido, we took the tour A. However, Palawan is an amazing destination to enjoy beaches, sun, adventures under the water, … It is without a doubt in top destinations in the Philippines.
